Leasing

Would you rather drive a recent model without giving resale a thought? Leasing could suit you. Here is how it works with Nissan Canada Finance, as presented by the Nissan Magog team.

What is leasing?

A long-term lease contract

Leasing means signing a contract with Nissan Canada Finance that spells out the term, the yearly mileage and the wear that is tolerated. You pay for using the vehicle rather than for its full value, so your monthly payments are generally lower than with financing. Subject to credit approval.

More money in your pocket

Smaller monthly payments, with taxes charged only on those payments instead of on the vehicle's full price.

Flexible down payments

Decide with your dealership on the down payment that fits your budget.

A new vehicle when the term ends

When the contract ends, choose a recent model without having to sell your vehicle.

Try before you buy

If you like the vehicle, you can buy it when the lease ends.

How leasing works

The residual value is the estimated worth of your vehicle when the contract ends. Nissan Canada Finance offers closed-end leases only, which guarantees the residual value. At the end of the term, if the market value is above the residual value, you can buy the vehicle and keep the difference; if it is below, you simply hand it back.

What a Nissan lease offers you

The standard lease program comes with 24,000 km per year, roughly what the average Canadian driver covers. If you expect to drive more, buying extra kilometres at the start of the contract (8¢/km) can cost less than doing so at the end (10¢/km).

Ready to lease?

Worth weighing first

Daily commutes, weekends at Mont Orford or small errands around town: work out your real mileage before turning to a lease.

  • In Canada, a lease often includes up to 24,000 km per year
  • Adding kilometres to your contract may be necessary
  • The vehicle isn't yours when the contract ends
  • You cover any excess wear charges at the end of the term
